The bus
The scheduled buses (the "regular," large buses) of Arriva (Bravo). From Monday to Friday, they run the same route and on a fixed schedule.

Anyone can travel on this bus.
When does the bus run?
- Monday to Friday: from approximately 05:30 a.m. to 8 p.m
- Please note these buses do not run on weekends

The district bus
Small vans of Arriva (Bravo), for 8 passengers. They run fixed routes from Monday to Friday. The district bus also goes to small villages where there is no scheduled bus.

Brabantliner
Fast bus that runs mostly on the motorway. It stops at a few stops.
Who is it for?
Anyone can travel on the Brabantliner.
When does the Brabantliner run?
- Every day from approximately 05:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m
- Please note that lines 501 and 502 do not run on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Line 500 runs Monday to Friday as far as Oosterhout. Breda is the terminus on Saturday and Sunday.

Schoolliner
(Curio prinsentuin Andel)
Arriva line buses (Bravo) run on school days to and from Curio prinsentuin Andel.
Who is it for?
Anyone can travel on these buses. They are regular scheduled buses, but they run specially to and from Curio prinsentuin in Andel. This makes them especially convenient for schoolchildren.
When does the Schoolliner run?
Only on school days (not school holidays).
Times are aligned with classes at Curio prinsentuin in Andel.

Bus line 174 runs twice in the morning from Wijk en Aalburg Kromme Nol to Curio prinsentuin in Andel (as line 684). Pupils do not need to change bus.
In the afternoon, the bus runs twice from the school to Wijk en Aalburg Kromme Nol (and then continues as line 174 towards Made).

The train
There is no train station in Altena itself. The nearest stations are in Gorinchem, 's-Hertogenbosch, Breda and Utrecht.

Buying and topping up a public transport chip card
You can order a public transport chip card (OV chipkaart) online. The card is simply delivered by mail and fits through the mailbox. You do not need to stay home for it. You can also order the card with a credit balance on it so you can travel immediately. You can also add credit online.
